If you have ever ventured down Great Ancoat’s Street then you will have most probably noticed the latest Urban Splash development to spring up out of nowhere. Chips, strange name but this large (143 apartments to be exact) and imaginative development was designed by British architect Will Alsop. Set astride the tranquil waters of the Ashton canal and just a touch further upstream from the impressive Islington Wharf site, Chips houses a selection of one and two bedroom apartments all of which boast the usual high quality fixtures and fittings that Urban Splash are quite commonly renowned for. The Metrolink is currently undergoing some serious development which will see the lines extended up past Chips ensuring the development is even more accessible for those who don’t fancy the pleasant 15 minute walk up the canal from the city centre.
